Just in case this helps anyone else in the same predicament, I poured the last of a bottle of red wine into a couple of glasses a few days ago, whilst moored up in a marina, then got up to put the empty bottle near the companionway ready for the recycling bin, and inadvertently knocked over one of the glasses (no, I hadn't drunk any of it yet
).
Of course, it went everywhere, all over the cockpit cushions, and started to stain the gel coat in the cockpit red as well.
Got out the black streak remover to tackle the stain on the gelcoat, which worked instantly, making it disappear. Son grabbed the cockpit cushion and ran to the tap with the bottle of black streak remover, sprayed the cushion and rinsed off. Result, a completely unmarked canvas cockpit cushion cover.
Brilliant stuff! Just neutralised the stain within seconds.
