A good few years ago I took a rib down the Thames to the QE2 bridge.
Under one of the bridges, may have been Southwark bridge was a very steep standing wave on the ebb tide.:ambivalence: I have never come across it since, but I plan a trip (on the ebb tide) in September and would rather avoid it this time.
Has anyone come across this, and if so which bridge and arch is it?
Thanks.

I was told that the remains of the old London Bridge foundations are just downstream of the existing bridge and in low tide conditions can cause a standing wave. It all adds to the fun...
