Standing mast route from Amsterdam going south

Planning to do this later this week/beginning of next. Has anyone got up to date knowledge, times of convoy, where to be etc?

I thought that I lent you the book.

We came south via Haarlem, which is worth a stop (and also thereby avoiding the fee for passing through). A wait for the Sassenheim bridge may be necessary. No info on the night convoy, sorry.

Unless you really want to do the night passage I'd go via Haarlem. We did it last year going North and it added a day going via Haarlem but Haarlem is well worth a visit.

Its a good few years since I did it, but the night convoy was one of those unique and quirky boating experiences that I'm very glad to have in the memory chest.

We went south from Ijmuiden because we were weather bound there and dying of boredom. We stopped somewhere like Oulde Wettering where you can moor by the side of the road for free (which suited Full Circle ahem) and got to Rotterdam the the following afternoon. Getting down to Zeeland - I can't say as we toodled up north stopping lots. I guess you could do Amsterdam to Hollands Diep in two days if you were lucky with bridges and didn't stop to enjoy anything.

We have been recommended to detour to Harlem on route to the Amsterdam, Markermeer and the Ijsselmeer later in the year, The Alms House district, apparently is the place to go for some nightlife?

If you stop in Haarlem then there is an alongside pontoon on the east side just before (i.e. north of) the Gravenstenenbrug. Quieter than being alongside the road.

we plan to be in Haarlem thursday this week, might stop over as MS suggested.we normally overnight in Dordrecht on the way through.we wil also go via The Kaag as Pam hasnt been that way before
