It looks like Tuesday is the day.
Our new Princess should be leaving Plymouth on Tuesday (weather permitting) for her first passage to Swanwick and it looks like I'll be on board as crew.
Cant wait now.
I'll take the camera and post some pics later when I get home.
In the meantime, wish us luck - the forecast looks promising at the moment but there's been some horrible weather in the last week or so - I wonder if the sea has settled yet.

Good luck Mike. I made the same trip at the helm of our P67 and it was my first time up the Hamble. The phrase quart in a pint pot springs to mind.

Why are you going as crew? Surely you'd rather be at the helm?

Oh, and don't forget the pics /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And charge the batteries + spares

The Hamble isnt new to us.
We were berthed at Mercury for 3 years.

No I'm only going as crew.
The boat is only on a delivery trip.
Not under my insurance or anything to do with me at the moment.
I'm just going so as I can keep a beedy eye on her.
It will also give me an opportunity to make my own snag list and get to know the engines etc.
I dont expect to find anything but it should give me a great insight into her, long before we actually take delivery ourselves.
Apart from that, I will just sit back and enjoy the trip.

Translation: Making sure they don't push the loud sticks too far forward /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Enjoy the trip Mike, looking forward to the photos. If you want to stop by Wokingham on Wednesday evening, you know where the pub is /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Rick

Looking forward to the pixs.

out of interest how long do you expect the trip to take. it would take me 16 ish hours to sail it. if the winds in the right direction /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What's an economical cruising speed ?

Ah understood.

It's a great trip and I did mine in 2005 with jfm. It's great sitting up on the flybridge looking at all the little people in the Solent /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yep Rick
I had thought of that so might just turn up.

But there's a lot of water to go under the (fly)bridge - so to speak - so dont hold your breath.

Mike

Sooooo sorry I will have to be in London that day - would love to have seen her "in the flesh". Looking forward to loads of pics!

Hi Mike,
Well if your leaving from Mayflower Marina, I'd hope they've got their access to the boats sorted out. If your stuck for a cup of tea I'll be on Sound Surveyor or Val B in the marina and the kettle is usually on /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Smashing news Mike do enjoy her. Cant wait to see the piccies of her berthed at Hamble. I never went to the Hamble so be good to see.

My friend is currently delivering a brand new P67 from Banus to the Balearics for Princess Banus.

I was in Mayflower on Saturday and they have temporarily sorted the access out with old pontoons new sections on order apparantly.

Heard you had the trip arranged from ol' rubber lips yesterday but didn't get back 'til quite late. Excellent news. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Looking forward to next thread with some latest pictures too.

When do you expect hand over Mike and how long do they take handing over a P67? Too much for one day only, I would have thought.

Looks like the next Wok' meet may be in the Hamble. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great news Mike, its getting closer to the 'magic moment'
Looks like you might be able to pop into the Wokingham meet Wednesday evening. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
