Standard Horizon vhf gps feed

I have a Standard Horizon GX1500s vhf which takes it’s dsc gps signal from a Standard Horizon chart plotter.
The plotter is faulty and probably not fixable.

I use an iPad with iPhone back up for navigation so am not too concerned about the plotter. I do, however, want dsc on the vhf.

Any ideas/recommendations for a freestanding GPS receiver with NMEA output?

The Evermore SA320 is often recommended. Or you could use a cheapo GPS chip and a voltage converter.
