Standard Horizon CP500 plotter

The display on my Standard Horizon CP500 plotter has crashed big time. Standard Horizon have discontinued this model and no longer have parts. Can anyone suggest a service centre anywhere who might be able to have a look at it for repair? Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure what "crashed big time " means; is it smashed or just not displaying correctly? Have you tried Yaesu in Winchester? They are named in the C500 manual and can perhaps help although we know that support for products these days often has a short life span.

The screen is just a mass of coloured lines and none of the keys work.
It was the helpful girl Ailsa at Yaesu.co.uk who told me that the CP500 has been discontinued.

Ah OK, sorry. In extremis and there being no one able to help I would be inclined to try and take it apart. Faults such as you described are sometimes a matter of a poorly seated connector somewhere. Of course it could be something more involved but reseating connectors is a good start,

As a last resort, I'll try taking it apart as you suggested. I can't make it any worse!
