The variations of sog on my old CP 180I are very slow as there is a speed filter programmed in the chart plotter ,I try to find this filter in the gps status page but dont find it.Can any one help me.Thanks

Fellow 180i user here - my thread has arrived. :)

Anybody know - because Google doesn't - where or if I can get my 180i updated?
Sadly, I don't think you can. C-Map stopped providing updates on their special chip cards and SH stopped making their chartolotters.

Thank you for your reply but when I enter the gps status I dont find the speed filter I dont understand why

Might perhaps be that earlier versions didn't have that filter, if that's what you have.

I have a CP180i, and never found the Nav Speed settings adequate to filter out the rolling of the boat continually affecting readings, meaning one had to mentally average them. (Seemed a daft shortcoming in an otherwise very good bit of kit.) I think I would have noticed the separate Speed Filter had it been in my manual.

Re mapping updates. Long ago I had my mapping updated, and Standard Horizon UK (otherwise very helpful) told me that because mine was an earlier model it would not be able to accommodate any further updates after that (due to insufficient memory IIRC). Someone else has said above that C-Map aren't doing them now anyway..

I believe that SH would now describe these plotters as obsolete and no longer support them, they are quite responsive to an e-mail
Back in the day SH would send out firmware updates on SD cards if you asked them - I remember doing an update to fix dodgy AIS target handling on my CP300 when we integrated an AIS transponder. Even though these plotters are very old now, worth contacting SH to see if they would still send out updates as generally they are helpful.
