standard horizon 300i plotter fault?

A 3-4 year old sh300i plotter, previously working fine has just developed a fault whereby on switch on it cycles through the picture of a sunset, the page where is gives the nav warning and a page saying loading software, then it intermittently displays the chart and gives a position, then starts cycling and bleeping again. Occasionally it locks on for a few minutes then any use of the controls starts the cycling again. The trouble shooting page in the manual mentions a RAM reset which I have done without solving the problem.

Anyone else had this, any solution or is it the sigh of a serious fault?

Check the power connections. Reseat the card.

thanks for your suggestions, tried re seating the c map card and power seemed Ok, have contacted SH
