I have checked everything on my digital yacht ais 1500 transponder and it is sending the nmea 0183 data onto port 2 at38400 baud onto my chartplotter I have done ais settings but it will not show any boats on the chart
can any one help thanks

Are you sure that the AIS receiver is sending the correct 0183 physical interface data for the plotter? My Easy AIS sends 0183 data as RS232 (two wires: data +ve and ground) and Raymarine "C" series plotters expect RS232 as 0183 input. However (!!!) NMEA 0183 physical interface is specified (by NMEA) as RS422 (three wires: data+ve, data -ve and ground) - but some manufacturers did not implement this ............ and also most don't actually specify the physical interface in their docs but just state "NMEA 0183" .... which is the protocol used not the physical interface.
I have not checked the specs for your AIS receiver nor your plotter but it is worth checking - if you can find the information. If you do need a data converter (RS232 to RS422 and vice versa) then you can get one for around £20 from Quark electronics in the UK.
The reason I suggest this - I have just been fighting to get AIS data onto a Quark electronics WiFi/NMEA 2000 converter (which expects an RS422 input). I could get the AIS receive data on my Raymarine "C70" series plotter but not on my phone via WiFi ............ untill I put an 232/422 converter on the input to the WiFi unit: now I have AIS on the C70 and also via WiFi to my mobile phone using the Navionics app.

Just a thought because some manufactures are a bit naughty and say the input/output is NMEA0183 but don't say what the physical interface is - although my understanding is that NMEA recommend (specify?) RS422 for the 0183.

Youen: The Quark converter is between the AIS and the Quark WiFi/NMEA2000 unit ............ it is not needed for the chart plotter.

This link doesn't work for me.

I am not sure whether I can help as I don't understand the technical stuff others have been posting.

My SH 300 showed AIS signals as soon as the Digital Yacht AIS receiver (different model to yours) was connected as per instructions (only two wires, as far as I can recall, but it was a long time ago) and checking the Plotter was set to the correct receive port and rate.

The only other things I can think of are the settings for AIS display. There is probably a control to turn off AIS display altogether (though I can't remember how). There is certainly a filter to turn off signals for vessels where the CPA is a over specified distance or time away. It may be worth checking that they are not excluding the display.

p.s. Are you sure your AIS (integral?) aerial is mounted somewhere on the boat, and the boat located somewhere, it is not shielded from signals?
