Hi all, hoping someone can help me, i have a yamaha 9.9 high thrust 4 stroke on my 20 ft cruiser, it starts straight away drives for about 30-40 mins fantastic, then if i slow down to moor up it stalls straight away or whilst still driving the revs are up and down till it stalls, im new to boating so any ideas would be great. Thanks

Fuel flow issue ?? Check tank is venting properly. Try gently pumping the bulb to see if that keeps it going.

Sparks?. Maybe cutting out on one cylinder. Check you have two good sparks ... need in line spark testers really. Or try shorting out one plug at a tme

Not into 4 stroke outboards though.

You are remembering to open the vent on the fuel can? That one has caught me out many times!!
