Stale fuel

Anyone got any suggestions on how to get rid of stale 3 year old petrol. I,ve just re-engined an old sportsboat and the onboard tank has about 20 gallons of very smelly unleaded in it. What should I do with it??

Your advice would be much appreciated.

Should be ok to burn,so long as not got waterinit,if your not sure the local garage might take it as most have recyling contracts for there oil.Might cost a quid or two but least its safer than a big fire.

Cos I was with the owner the last time he put fuel in.

Come across this in classic cars every now and again. The easiest thing to do is to mix it 50/50 with new stuff and burn it off via the engine. Proabbly worth dropping some Redex and Octane booster in as well.

20 Gallons is not going should not last you more than an hour or so!

So you unscrew this, and put it safely here, then oopps...
