I asked the marina engineers to look at a a job, but as expected, nothing happened. So headed inland to industrial estate where a machining firm seemed more promising. However only a small job so operator kept being taken off it for other tasks - 5 weeks and rising by now. Put the job in car and took it to a one man band used by a friend; job finished within 3 hours !!
So thats a recommendation from two of us for Dave at Towpath Limited in the Medway City Estate for anyone on the river. 01634 296644 and 07821 006520. Does machining, fabrication and welding in BS316 etc

Little engineering places are always best, especially if you turn up in person clutching the job and ready to have a chat, some take a bit of escaping from once you start chatting though.

My wee boat came off its mooring and had a contra temps with a railway arch in an easterly gale (a long sad tale), however my pulpit which was an interesting shape was fixed ( an excellent job), with some new S S by a local light engineering and SS specialist - Ashley Light Engineering Folkestone. The guy who did the work was a sailor.
