Anyone know how to remove the black end grain staining caused by water absorbtion, also white just below the surface staining. Wood is Beech I think but not sure ( factory fit Sigma 362 )
Thanks
Keith
Considered oxalic, but this is long term staining due to end grain water intrusion and it is probably deep fungal staining. Will use oxalic as a last resort but was thinking along the lines of a fume cabinet. Cabin is in pieces for another project at moment so can treat individual pieces away from boat. Sodium hypo seems a possibility but am at the limits of my knowledge and dont want to cure one problem only to have a nastier prob bite me in the bum

After 4 of us and the dog sleeping on our 23 foot boat last Easter we had a lot of condensation. This soaked into the end grain of some trim and left black marks. I was horrified.......but a few weeks later with planty of warm weather it all dissapeared....how happy was I ???
