plenty of sunshine!

- if its anything like the stain left by my ensign, you can forget all the Cifs, Starbrites etc (useless) - the Sun eventually faded it completely away for free...

You have a good memory my friend.
Had a walk to W.V last week could'nt remember were you were though.
Were you on the Lake this weekend and did you get a speed camera pointed at you ? Before you ask yes I was and yes I did. Went about 20yds in front of water police just on the plane doing about 15-20mph pointed his thingy at me but no blue lights or letter in post, yet.
So much for the protests alledgedly going on we went to the rendevouz at 10am Mon but sod all going on.

We were on the lake on Sunday, but only slow so nobody pointed a camera. A few at our marina went to look for the protest but couldn't find it either.

If you want to find the wardens, look for a boat called "[oh really!] to the speed ban" (yes honestly) as they are currently following him like flies around a jam jar!

I believe ( but its hearsay only ) that the Lake Wardens are giving out verbal warnings at the moment, so hopefully no letter will come. BTW- is it nautical MPH or statute MPH, and is there the usual 10% +3mph that the police use?

We're down at WMV this weekend but Sunday only: SWMBO says we must go to an engagement party on Sat evening. Berth 332; that's down the pontoon opposite the Spinnaker Club.

No not registered yet but will do soon.

I thought you were wearing the maid's outfit this weekend.

Perhaps so, but I've been sailing this afternoon and that makes up for it.
Can't get excited about feather dusters though.

Very grey area regarding mph or nm. I personally think that they meen mph but not really bothered cos I can cruise on the plane with tabs down around the 15mph so thats what I will do from time to time. Then theres always early morning or late at night for a blast. Mr plod did'nt book me on Sunday when I went passed him however I spoke to two boaters on the lake who had had verbals. The way I understand it is two verbals then court, in other words three strikes and your out.
With regards to the alledged protest Sun. there were'nt one Mon. there were'nt one either. Mr kemp or Hemp whatever it is was floating about 10am with press onboard but nobody turned up. Lots of talk from lots of folk about how they were going to flout the law but when it came down to it no begger turned out. Makes you think dont it.
I have spoken to a few of my regular retaurant owner/managers and the word on the street is that the limit has hit the economy cos lots of big spender boat owners have naffed off. Lots of pubs / restaurants in Bowness and surrounding areas are normally reliant for there bread and butter directly from boaters.
Who said that the limit would not harm the economy. A knob head thats who.

No. It's knots. That's the dilema because it's MPH on the other lakes and they think they should have done the same on Windermere, but it is actually nautical miles per hour (about 11.4mph I think).

I don't know about restaurants but, the hotel and B&B trade is a bit flat for some. Not that anyone is blaming the speed limit at the moment. The weather is taking the brunt of the blame.

Not everyone likes confronatation when they're out for a day of fun. You have to be a certain (Tony Kemp) sort of person to relish that. I reckon most people who want to continue skiing have made alternative arrangements. I can't see many wives and kids thinking it's great to keep getting stopped by the police or wardens and paying £500 a throw for the privilege.
