Sunsail bareboat rafted up on our return from dinner.
Plenty of room next to another Sunsail with no need to raft.
Trampling over both ends of ours. Noisy. Disrespectful.
Polite exchanges about moving.
No honest intention whatever.
No marina staff. What to do?
Security are poised but how to relax or sleep??

Well, in the morning the rogue Sunsail 4007 bare-boat "Yachtmaster" rafted sailors decided that shouting was the only way to communicate and not having code for shower access, took a dip in the harbour. Things looked up, however, when the electrical supply became un-hooked and on asking about departure, got a confirmation of intent. I repaired to watch from the public gallery above, only to see them dig their stern with a sickening GRP type crushing noise into an Ombrine 960 parked on a perpendicular pontoon and from bouncing off her, then headed for Ballast Point with no hint of looking back. The deep injustice of their entire stay was, however, diffused a few minutes later by the Gunwharf Harbour Master. He advised me that on departing the scene of an incident without reporting it, he requested QHM assistance to intercept the boat for return to his harbour. Which is exactly what happened next and not only to my delight. Hopefully whatever happened then will become public domain, perhaps through an MCA investigation? IMHO, in trying to get away before the harbour master shows up, to complete a free overnight stay, in strong gusting winds, there was a robust failure to correctly rank order skipper's obligations. Completely selfish covers it. Feel good? No and Yes. But the venue turned out to be a very good one for our 60th party bash: we had a two day duration celebration on the wide pontoon there and made a number of new boating buddies along the way. And right or wrong, have a shrewd idea now what and who to stay well clear of. And we were lucky: it didn't rain!

Great result: making noise is one thing, making noise and not inviting to join is something else.

Smashing a boat then leaving that is like bike theft : evil!
