Just found written on roof at at back of quarterberth a name and address. I reckon it could be bethfrans original owner. Would anyone know of them? An E or C, M Flickerson of brightlingsea.
I bought her from a vince lowen at pagleshamsailing club and she was called reme velesque then.
Would be interesting to find out any of her history if possible.

It is always interesting to find out history connected with our boats. When I removed the wooden bowsprit from my old Macwester 26 Marcus there was a note written in indelible ink on the underside noting that it was to be 9ft long and was wood from the last barquentine slate trading sailing vessel to work from Portmadoc now Porthmadog but was called Portmadoc in the 60/70's. The ship name was written but came away with mastic when I removed the sprit. I hope you get the history for your boat.

One day a chap came up to me in Swanwick and said, "its lovely to see a Cheverton, David (Cheverton) would be delighted to see her. So we arrange it and took Paean over to Cowes to meet him. He brought Patrick Methold, who ran the boatyard. Between them, they gave provided a full history of her build along with review of my restoration (more work as then done to rectify issues they identified). I learned why she was named Paean and lots of other little details. Since then I have been able to trace most of the owners and I now have a pretty good record of the maintenance work done in the past 59 years.
