I have a ST6000+ autopilot. On the back of it there are two 3-pin sockets for Seatalk and one NMEA In socket (2 prongs) for +ve and -ve.
The problem is that on one of the Seatalk sockets the middle prong is broken.
Is there any way I can get around this?
All answers greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Depends how your instruments are wired. If you have instruments "daisy chained", ie a ST cable from instrument A to the ST600, then to instrument B, you cannot simply ignore the broken terminal. If there is no daisy chain you only need one socket.

Assuming you have daisy chained instruments:

Can you change the cabling so the AP is at the end of the chain, so it only needs one socket ?

If not, cut both cables a few inches from the plugs that connect to the St6000, strip the insulation back on both cables and one of the plugs (with the few inches of cable), then join the three red wires together, three yellow wires together and the three shield wires together. Plug the single plug into the good socket and Bobs your uncle.

Thank you Paul. I appreciate the advise. I think I will strip back the wire, as you suggest, and plug it into the good socket. I have 3 spare cables. Will let you know how I get on. I return to the boat next week.
Again, thank you.
