Over the past few months I've bought a few ST60 Wind Mast Head Units, the newer egg shape ones. These were all listed as faulty, but all they needed was to give the bearings a good clean or replacement wiring. I had bought some replacement bearings, but they don't seem to be needed.

I cleaned the bearings in an ultrasonic water bath, followed by IPA. The question is, should I oil them? I bought some watch oil in case ...

India Pale Ale ??

Mine started sticking last year. I removed it. Spun it a few thousand times with several doses of WD40. When the fluid was clean I put a touch of light oil on the bearing. It has run perfectly since. I found the cause was a blocked vent hole to allow rainwater to drain. It was almost invisible and totally blocked.
