ST60 / seatalk fault identified!

One day after some rough weather our ST60 instruments all went to pot.

Speed insisted on changing to MPH and all GPS data on the graphic instrument was gone.

After checking everything over in the system I started isolating the instruments one by one.

It turns out this RF Base which is used for the remote for the autopilot has suffered an old age issue.

Once unplugged everything came back to normal

Was that NMEA 2000 or SeaTalk? Interesting that rubbish on the network could cause the speed to change units.

Seatalk 1.

It was the end of the chain of instruments.

As soon as it was removed everything returned to normal.

I was extremely surprised also!
