I have just bought another boat and there was no wind transducer at the top of the mast for the ST60 plus. I bought a new raymarine transducer and fitted it.
The unit still shows 3 dash‘s in the display?
I Phoned up raymarine and they asked me test the voltage. They said there should be 8v between the red wire and the ground. There’s no voltage there. Checked at the back of the display. There’s no voltage out of any of the pins.
does this mean the display has died?
can they be repaired?

what was connected to the display when you did this test? eg. just the wire, nothing, wire and transducer
when I replaced my transducer I found that the 3 dashes did not disappear until I had installed the new transducer AND power cycled the display. This led me to do a bunch of testing of continuity of the cables all the way up the mast which was ultimately pointless.

The transducer is attached at the time I did the test. I have since turned the power off and that didn’t make a difference.
how do I install the new transducer? And power cycled the display?? Did the pointer do anything when yours was showing the 3 dashes?

I can't remember if the wind direction was working and just the speeds were not. I think though that even when the display is powered off the wind direction still shows.

I would disconnect the wire and see if you get the 8V on the red connection - just incase the wire or the transducer has shorted out internally and is pulling down the voltage to ground. If you have the sensor in hand (and not at the top of the mast) then I would rig up a makeshift cable between the display and transducer and see if you can get it to work in your hand, in the boat cockpit.
