New boat has ST60. Trying to recalibrate eg feet to metres for depth.
Instructions from web are clear. Having found relevant screen and item - use track or reset button to change the value.
But it shows Metres only for a second and reverts to Feet, whatever I do!
Help please.

Are you saving the change by a long press on 2 buttons as per instructions?

Thanks both for quick replies. Both displays behave the same way - how do you tell which is slave? I presumed chart table master. But both refuse to accept change to feet. Can't keep M on display long enough to save change by 2 button press it just pops straight back to ft.

The master should be the one to which the transducer is wired, but it doesn't sound as if that's the problem.
All I can suggest is you disconnect the seatalk cable to the slave and try to reset the master, assuming it's still got power. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

do you have a chart plotter and maybe the info is locked in.

(just a suggestion, i have no knowledge of the st60 but it might be in a locked setup so it cant be inadvertantly reset.)

I had a similar problem with a Raymarine instrument and Raymarine gave me instructions for a full reset which cleared everything back to factory settings and then allowed the user settings to be obeyed again. So check with Raymarine.

Thank you to all, as usual the forum gets you the answer.
I phoned Raymarine and was amazed to get a really helpful response. And it was an issue of masters and slaves in fact - there are effectively 3 displays, chart table binnacle and hatch the c table one actually says graphic on it which I should have twigged meant pretty picture only. The hatch one says tridata and that's the one. Obvious and easy when you know. Many thanks. We also phoned Selden with another query and got a similarly helpful expert answer. Heartening.

Glad you sorted it - simple when you know how it's configured ...

Just as a heads up to anyone else with similar 'issues' - a Tridata can be configured as a slave - taking the data from another tridata or seperate speed/depth masters - whatever is on the seatalk bus actually ... We have 2 tridata's on our boat - one is a slave to the other ... So it isn't always going to be the tridata ...

Shocking really that the expectation these days is that the company making a product will be less helpful than random strangers on the internet and so are a second choice in support. Really nice to hear that you got good service and brownie points to the companies for giving it - that will certainly put them on my list for products in future.
