My wind and depth ST50 both expired after 7 - 8 years. Repairs and spare parts don't seem to be available, so I had to replace the lot. The Raymarine dealer reckoned that they had 'had a good innings', and you should expect to replace them after about that time. I thought otherwise, and was peeved about lack of any support for parts.
They must be nearly years old now, spares are no longer available, and no matter what Raymarine may try and tell you none of their new kit is backwards compatible so you have to scrap the lot.
As long as I get 7-8 years out of mine, that will do me. I bought a couple of items secondhand, but most of the stuff I got came from the states or a couple of bits from UK, new old stock, cheap as chips! I dont like the new stuff, totally out of place in my wheelhouse.

A friend of mine has been reasonably successful in using the ST60 instruments with ST50 (old) transducers. He was lazy and just tried, only temperature stubbornly refused to come up - acceptable for him (and would be for me, too).
My own set has worked very weel for 10 years, now.
There have been complaints about the units being a bit sensitive when it comes to flushing form waves and rain. Can't comment as mine are usually under the sprayhood and therefore quite safe from both.
