Am off to St Malo tonight, on the ferry. Was going to Mt St Michel tomorrow but weather looks vile so it can wait a day or so.
Any suggestions of places to go in St Malo on a wet and windy day?

If it's your first time there, the old town should be able to keep you busy for a day between window shopping, exploring the walls and the harbour. If the tide times are right, then walk out to the islands, but make sure you don't get cut-off - a night on one of the islands will be a real dampener.

Walk the walls and then go into the real world of the town. The Market is good value as is a walk around the St Servan "hill" Amazing shell damage to some of the fortified turrets. Then eat on the front, chosing your spot to come and dry out on!

I've tried it in a F7 but not in vile weather, but a walk out to the islands Le Grand & Petit Bey is a lovely way to pass the time. Nothing to do but just stand and contemplate nature and the view. It's also good fun watching people who've got the tide wrong.
