St Malo Lock Will Be Closed for August for lock repair.
it was on our local news today.

ST MALO HARBOUR – REPLACING GATES AT NAYE’S LOCK – AUGUST 2003

Throughout August 2003 work is being undertaken to replace the outer gates of the main lock into St Malo Harbour. ‘Ecluse du Naye’ and the Inner Harbour will be closed to all leisure boats from 1st to 31st August. Keep clear a 1500 tonnes crane barge will be working on the project. Some additional berths will be available at the Bas-Sablons marina. Contact: 00 33 2 99 81 71 34 and fax 00 33 2 99 81 91 81.

So St Malo will close. Typical "Frogy" attitude to life. Never mind go to Granville and enjoy yourselves watching the locals grouping to enter the marina after a day out and waiting fpor the gate to open. I have never seen so much impatience and hence barging and banging of boats and poles. Its a wonder any of them float after six months.
