We are currently here. Anyone coming up should be aware that there is severe interference on VHF Ch 80 such that communication is virtually impossible. We rang them on arrival and that was OK, we just waited for the green light. Luckily only one other boat coming in if it had been busy it might have been interesting.
The HM said it had been like that for weeks, surprising that it hasn't been sorted??

The interference on ch 80 was there last summer! They seemed to be aware of the source's location but it appears nobody is particularly interested in sorting it out.

As an aside does anybody recall if the interference on channel 86 still happening?

Haven't been to St Katz for a few years, but I have Tacktick instruments, and the wireless wind stopped working as we approached the lock, and started again as we left it. ALl those offices with WiFi networks, maybe it's not a surprise that VHF is interfered with too

Yes she came in yesterday and is on the VIP pontoon where a number of pavilions have been erected today.
We leave on Thursday weather permitting so will miss the fun.

we went aboard her last friday, the owner is obsessed with British engineering, if you can get a look. we showed great interest ( with some knowledge of engineering) & it was handsomely repaid by the owner who entertained us after the engineer had showed us around.
mention two old sailors he saw in Oostende :)
