1 x week in St Kats. 11m boat. £438.46. Prices all on line. Like it or lump it.
1 x week in Limehouse . 11m boat. "Discounted Rally rate" £431.12. Actual price impossible to find inline. OG eventually gave up .
1 x week South Dock. 11m £235.00 All easily found on a PDF.

Limehouse not such a bargain now if you stay for more than few days.
As for trying to get into WID, good luck with that one.

Did you manage to get any comparative cost for WID ?
No .
We gave up trying to extract the cost of getting 10 mid sized boats into WID from the 20 downloadable pages of CaRT H&S and the charges of opening and shutting the lock gates.
Suspect if you are organising a rally of 150 boats and with the combined forces of the ATYC and an entire army of retired Thames club commodores with the time to devote to such an enterprise, you might well succeed.
If you are the volunteer cruise arranger all on his tod, still earning a living and shortly about to lose the will to live .....No chance. ?

Would it be so difficult to announce the following.
You need a minimum on 10 boats. ???
It going to cost £50.00- £70 ?? per boat per night regardless of boat size. Max 50ft. ???.
All the boats in your group must lock in and out at the same time.
Please send your 50% deposit cheque or by BACS. 28 days before arrival .............................etc etc

Wow. Surprised that Limehouse is so similar to St K. Being cheaper was always its thing. Can't see the point of going anywhere except St K.
Think it all depends on your view of stuff , if your idea of heaven is a cold bouncy mooring in a muddy creek looking forward to that long stored 13 month olde Frey Bentos pie washed down with Tea that tastes of Purotab, then both of the above marinas will probably not disappoint
If on the other hand you have only got one life and most of that is behind you a marina buzzing with life and with everything literally on your doorstep in spades, it might be worth few extra coppers.
.......................................and they now appear to cost around the same price if you stay for week.

Ideally a nice early tide to exit St. Kats. Punch the last of the tide for a couple of hours , then the ebb all the way back to Southend.
Across the Swatch at LW and then early flood all the way back to Rochester.
LW. Ideal time to cross over, some shelter from the shore and slack water not causing too many problems against incoming tide.
The Thames tidal marinas do provide a break during the journey round, a chance to chill, provide the first assault on the wallet, before the rigours of the Thames.
When going onto Teddington , Kats is about an hour closer than Limehouse and somewhat less of a rush.
At least Hammersmith is no longer an issue.

In 28 years of living on boats 24/365 I have only ever stopped in one marina and it was South Dock marina. I was there for their lovely wharf crane and an engine change but we stayed a couple of nights on the moorings as I needed to perform some extra installation works.

I actually thought it was quite nice there. Not the most central of marinas if you want to do the London thing but you can get the clipper from Greenland pier (assuming it is still open) and get info town fast and by water which is always the best way.
Never paid to stay at Limehouse but one of my boats is on a residential mooring near there so I am "that bloke in the dinghy" rather regularly around there.

St Kats seems a bit touristy but I suppose if it's same price as LH then probably a better option overall.

Had no problem at all with South Dock very reasonable price wise and staff very helpful . Lock staff came in to allow us a very early departure.
Did use the Clippers to get around.
On our last visit a film crew was on location just across the pontoon.

The movie went straight to video.
"City Slackers." Basically taking the mick out of the Shoulder Pad and Braces 1980s.

Is that the 11m price or is it same price for all on a rally?

Good question ?
Will find out and report back .
Think it was 10% off the normal single boat daily rate. ?
Personally was unable to find anything anywhere online about their 2022 rates. Others might have more luck.

Worth noting that Claire Frew (Ex MBM / MotorBoat Owner) is now running marketing and events at St Kats, always worth a call !
