Anyone else having trouble with this? They say they sent us 2 reminders but we didn't receive them so it expired in March. When we noticed we sent them a renewal form on 28th April. They say they got this on 3rd May. They are currently working on the ones which they received on 28th April so they should start on ours "In the next few days". No amount of pressure will encourage them to work in any order other than order of receipt of applications.

Check your expiry date and if it is the next few months I would advise you to get a renewal application in quick.

Mine was done (via the net) on 3rd May, so it'll be interesting to see how quick that is, and whether it is relative in speed to postal applications.....

I struggled with this web site for ages. It looks like I can change the length of the boat or the number of hulls but I can't just do a simple renewal on line. Did I have the wrong site?

You got the right website... A couple of months ago, I got round to changing the ownnership of Melteme, filled in the on-line form and within a week had the new documents through.... Must just be luck of the draw

Nope, mine was part of purchasing the boat, so was a 'change of ownership/new registration' application..... just had another look, and you are right, you can renew on line..... how crazy is that!

I got my registration documents almost by return of post. Unfortunately, they had used the old name of the boat (Enigma of Mersea rather than Enigma of Beaulieu) which I sorted out on-line and again, the correctly filled out documents were received very quickly.

Good luck!

Now the awful truth is starting to emerge:

Me: "Are you sure we didin't get any reminders?"
SWMBO: "What would it have looked like?"
Me: "Brown envelope with MCA on the outside"
SWMBO: "I might have thought it was another radio licence reminder"
Long Pause
SWMBO: "I might have put it in the bin"

AAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHH.

If we get to Calais at Whitsun without a certificate she is paying the fine.

Edit:-
All is forgiven. It arrived in the post this morning.

Someone told me that the SSR has no legal weight in the UK. And of course you have to measure the length of the boat yourself using whatever length measurement equipment might be handy. And I've heard some French marinas base their charges on the length shown in the SSR.......................... : /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
