ssr registration

i am buying a boat registered. can anybody explain how to change registration details and possibly a name change.
i know this must have been posted before at some time so i appologise in advance for repeating.

it is the previous owners responsibility to inform the SSR that they no longer own the boat....

BUT.... its not an issue... go to the website, and you can register the boat in your name anyway....

I believe you can change the boat name at the same time.

I did it online last week. I only had the SSR number, because the person I bought from hadn't renewed when he bought Moonshine.

I entered the details, just putting a random date in the previous expiration field, because it expected something, explained that I hadn't any other info in the comments field and the certificate arrived this week.

Did my change of ownership on line too...peice of cake except having to pay 25 quid to do it!! Cert arrived in a couple of days.
