SSR cancellation?

Whilst technically you should, most people don't actually bother cancelling SSR: they just let the new owner re-register with the same SSR number but a new owner name. I doubt you'll get anything in the post. The SSR system seems to cope with this fine.

We sometimes have to get a printed "Transcript of Closed Registry" from the MCA when a boat is sold to a foreign buyer as they will need this get the boat re-registered in foreign-land - this we always do by post whether it's Part I or SSR.

Sorry I should have said we sold it to a Dutch guy....

I would ring the MCA - your buyer will almost certainly need the printed "Transcript of Closed Registry" from the MCA, though it might be a while before he realises he needs it, when he gets round to registering in Holland.

recently sold my boat to a foreign buyer who need certificate of deregistration SSR office was good enough to send me an email copy as well on request which was good enough for his reregistration purposes,
