SS Fabricator Bristol / Portishead

I need a few buts doing like chainplates, fix bathing platform and some other random things.

Anyone know of one local to Bristol / Portishead?

Not yet. Assumed they were just engineers and chandlery. Have you used them for customer stainless jobs?

I can strongly recommend Dan Brown (http://www.brownscreativemetal.co.uk/welding-services/) He did a great job for me on a custom bow roller, made in 316 SS. I also found that he doesn't charge 'marine' prices.

They seem to be pretty competent at most things, and they are now into boat building at their Sharpness yard. Worth a call, and if they can't do it themselves, they will point you in the right direction. I have had nothing except a positive experience with Advance.

I fear that you will have no other joy - unless you can buy the items off the shelf (or can buy items which are very close to what you need and have a fabricator make some minor amendments). I suspect the reason why they're expensive is because they have to make the items from scratch. Making a 5mm chainplate from scratch will be very time consuming.
