You should try asking previous owners, they are most likely to be the ones with experience of that particular model.

Not me tho.

Bored, too cold to paint.

"Who was he?"

Re: Squadron 59/ Cara

All I can offer is....

there were several mag tests last year
I have several digi pics of numbers 4 thru 9 in build in Oundle
The cabin layout is excellent, the guest cabin is especially good imho.

Nice boat

BTW, did you see this month's BI (the issue with Schuey's new boat on the cover)? They had full test on Cara jet. Sadly, it was a typical BI feature that praised and praised even the most unpraisable things, no apparent objectivity, but some useful info. Several new pictures (though no oil painting...). However, you said you had ditched this boat becos of the open helm, yet in the article they said they do an enclosed helm version too and have these already in build.

Re: Squadron 59/ Cara

What is the BI Mag?

I know that Cara are now doing a covered version and this together with other improvments makes the boat the very top of the list for me. I have again looked into the whole matter in some depth and there is no doubt in my mind that the Cara is the best boat for me.

However, I have decided that I cannot afford one at present and so have decided to compromise for the moment in the hope of getting a Cara in a few years time.

Boat International. I'll scan the article and email it if you cant get hold of a copy. It was 5 or 6 pages, colour

How much is a cara by the way?

The squaddie is mile better looking imho :) (and I'm a mech eng too, but I still think aesthetics count for something!!)

Re: Squadron 59/ Cara

Thanks for the offer - I shall try to get a copy but doubt it here in Wales.

If you coulkdemail a scan, I would appreciate it.

The Cara is about £720k plus VAT.

You get basically your own custom version for that.

I agree on the looks but think that Cara can be made to go a long way in that department as well.

Anyway, its academic for now - I have to cut my cloth a bit and so its second hand fairlines/princesses etc. I am now selling my Princess 385 having just learnt that I spent 20k on her in 18 months - a good boat for someone.
