Anyone got any idea which marinas they are planning? Please let there be one on the Dart. Pretty please.

Re: :-(

They are expanding rapidly but this seems to be by marina chain rather than boat population. A Plymouth marina is on their list.

Start the ball rolling yourself...

I've been using SquareMile for nearly a year now at our marina (Plymouth Yacht Haven) and its brilliant!

It wasn't available until I started making noises about it. You need to get your marina MD on-side and also contact Paul Walsh at SquareMile (paul@squaremileinternational.com). Get him to talk to your marina MD and explain that it won't cost the marina a penny. You need to get as many of the berth holders as possible to agree to sign up to the new service (to make it worth SquareMile's time and money to install it).

I got it installed at PYH within 6 months of my first request. Go for it; make a fuss; canvas everyone in the area - local businesses can get in on the act too.

Whereabouts are you on the Dart? I like visiting DartHaven marina from time-to-time and it would be nice to have the service available. Once you've paid your subs you can access it at any marina that had it installed!

Cheers,

Jerry

Re: Square mile

We have had a couple of customers with connection problems. Although Square Mile are apparently sympathetic their only solution is a adapter that costs £150. We have done some trials with a cheaper adapter with good results. If you are having problems with Square Mile and want to trial some equipment please send PM.

Re: dart haven

dunno bout in the river, but I wd expect dart haven to be fairly mortified if they aren't getting this soon.

I remember reurning one night a while ago, forgot the number etc, pathetic attempt at climbing over in progress when the marina manger came out all v polite and sorry sir this and that, he remebered my name, and was even wearing a business suit. Bizarre and wonderful.

Re: dart haven

Are you sure you're talking about Darthaven ? The only number you need is to get to the loos - were you trying to climb through the window /forums/images/icons/blush.gif ?!

We're on the Dart Harbour pontoons just a few yards N of Darthaven and there are so many moorings I'm sure we'd all help fill the coffers of a wifi supplier !
