Can anyone please recomend supplier and product for 12v strip of self adhesive leds’ that are man enough for the environment, looking for working pool of light, up close it would be torches. Only looking for white, nothing fancy dont want flashing or odd colours.
Thanks

I fear that 'man enough' for marine use and cheap are incompatible.

I'd be inclined to look at a site selling lights for landrovers and the like: 12V, physically and electrically robust and come with AV mounts. At the top-end of the range I've just fitted one of these https://www.lazerlamps.com/home/lights/utility-series/utility-80 on a farm vehicle and although expensive it's the dog's doohdahs. Amazingly good light over a huge area allows things like tree clearance and chain-sawing after dark.

But lower power and cheaper models are available and could be mounted on the spreaders. Not self-adhesive of course, but since you need to run a cable anyway, the percentage extra work to mount it properly will be negligeable. Example here at 1/20th the price: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Safego-Lig...t6dazuypsm8bh_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&s=automotive

Check eBay. At a couple of quid for a pair, you can’t go wrong. They are led, sealed and designed for cars, not too different to 20ft up the mast. Been meaning to get some and need to get around to it.

Look for LED Day running lights cheap and should be fine olewill

I have used the sealed led (no self adhesive) type bought from ebay on the mast; very cheap, take little space and give a lot of light; lasted for years; the whole strip must be sealed.

Mr Captain Fantastic, do you remember who you bought from on ebay also can you remember the product ref.
Ebay can be confusing when youre buying product youre not used to. Dont fancy a second trip to replace inferior product when youve found one that works
Thanks

Sorry, It was a few years ago and I have no record; but, each led light was encapsulated in resin. I just had a look on ebay under "led strip light 12v waterproof" and there are a number of products.

Thanks everyone, hopefully by following some of the links provided I’ve found a solution, will let you know when they’re installed.

One of the important points about robustness will be corrosion protection of any steel bracket or body parts. If painted, it will rust (all paints are porous). If powder applied coating (often called "powdercoating" as if that defined the coating), often polyester - they're porous too. So these types of coating will rust before the first season is over.
If you can find one in a plastic, that's probably the only thing that that will be low cost and more durable. Stainless (316) would be good, but that would be aimed at the marine market, and any vendor with "marine" in their sights will price accordingly.
