New sprayhood fitted to my boat. the hem is sawn on the outside. the reinforcement patches are sawn on the outside. the patches are punched and pushed over cord toggles. told this is how they do them. I am a bit slow and believed this.
Wondered on the way home why anyone would sew a hem on the outside, then wondered why they would put patches on the outside. then came to conclusion the whole front part was sewn inside out and ive just been taken for a Mug. Of course I don't know that so I wonder what you all think. any possible reason to sew it this way and put all the patches on the outside and then use cord fittings. all your objective comments really appreciated.

Still I love the colour, Would prefer the large number of patches were not visable on the outside. took me quite a while to work out how and why.

I did the same with a new fabric roof for an old Land Rover. Their sewing was so good that there was only one really obvious seam on the outside.
