When rigged in March our hood windows looked fine. Now, not many weeks later they have some sort of build up of muck which wont come off. It is slightly sticky and in a pattern suggesting run off with airborn contamination. Tried the special cleaning/rubbing compound with no effect. Have read lots of cures for scratching and blooming but none for this particular problem. Best solution will be replacement but at this time of year with improving weather would like to use the boat with hood. Someone said white spirit might work but did not have any onboard and am concious that lots of solvents react with the window material. So, anyone suffered similar problems and per chance found a solution?

The sticky residue wont shift with abrasive cleaners. I guess 5 years of Hamble fallout is all I can expect. Thanks for your suggestions but new windows looks to be the way to go and eye lids for the furure.
