long time before any spot the boat/place/whatever in the forum, so thought I'd post one.
No bikinis, photo shot yesterday in the northern hemisphere.

Vasa museum

well done,

unfortunately no prize, just a couple of pics of a brilliant 20m steel boat I had lunch on Sat...

100many yrs, old, think 150? steel frames, riveted 8mm steel plate, no engine originally, was one of 20odd lighthouse boats, just a small mast, a central superstructure with the light, good anchoring gear, a steam engine for the anchoring gear, 7 crew (FULL TIME I found that extreme tbh) and was anchored on shallows or dangerous spots.
Our friend bought it approx 30 yrs ago as a shell, replaced around 20sqm plating (he has a boatyard north of Stockholm), added the two masts, 2 8cyl 10lt Volvo turbodiesels (250 or so bhp, isn't it too little?) converted to a boat house, and living with his wife in it for the last 12+ yrs. It's moored next to the Vasa museum.
Lovely space, BIG, two levels, etc, very impressive. Very warm as well with 25cm insulation (rockwool + polystyrene), central heating with underfloor heating throughout, a proper kitchen, jacuzzi bath, etc. 180ton
Only moves every year or two to a nearby boatyard for checking/painting/servicing.
