These photie comps are too difficult. Here's an easy one with an obvious clue

Strontian

Interesting guess Jimi, but frayed knot.

Anyway, what makes you think it's Scotland?

Thats strontium, first found a Strontian, a small place between Ballahullish and Ft William, where a small ferry runs across to Ardgour (or it did 20 yrs ago!!)

Frayed knot again Jimi. Strontian's on Loch Sunart. But I seem to remember hearing that Strontium and Strontian are related in some way.

Anyway, back to the big clue. What makes you think it's in Scotland?

Aye, right enough!

Anyway here's another clue: Don't let the David Macbrayne connection lure you into the automatic assumption that it's Scotland.

Congrats Ashley - Rathlin Island it is. Great place. First time there was late evening in May. Into McCuaig’s bar for fish, chips and a pint. Just worried about making sure we could get another bevvy, so innocently asked about closing time. The woman behind the bar looked at her watch and said, "Now, would October be all right for you?"

That's what happens when you try to put a "Mac" together with a "brayne" in one word....
