sports boat ally screen frames?

anuver question for you's...

i have a shetland suntrip, with a sports style screen, wot i wanna do is replace/rework it.

where can i buy the alluminium channels (i would have said extrusion, but i can't spell it) i need enough to make the base, top, two sides and the corners, the glass isn't a problem...

any ideas?

The last ones I made were for a Fletcher, and that was donkey's years ago (drat, I mentioned donkeys, hlb will be along any minute). They were bought from a DIY store and were window channels. They were just straight ali, you can probably get anodised ones in different colours these days.

The big B&Q on the roundabout at Poole does a range of ali profiles. Your limited to length of about 2mtrs tho

Check out non-marine first

There are loads of places that you can get stuff for your boat that are not dedicated to the marine world - and therefore much cheaper. There have been lists galore of such places on posts past. A recent example though was teak oil for my bathing platform. Chandlers £11.99. Focus DIY £1.59. Get the idea? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

i have found a place on the uddens trading estate in ferndown. got to check it out tommorrow, my contact swears that they stock ally profiles for things like shower screens and windows....

now i wonder what a nice etched glass would look like on the shetland....Hmmmm?
