Hi all, fairly new on here, so go easy on me.

I'm currently looking for a book or two on the art of splicing. Its just something I've always wanted to do, and thought I could teach myself. I'm looking for a book that has some fairly in depth explainations for splicing different types of ropes, including modern stuff. Any recommendations?

I honestly don't think there is too much to it, if it is regular 3 strand rope you wish to splice. I have the "Handbook of Knots" by Des Pawson which has a few colour snaps of what to do which I found useful. Practised a few evenings on a spare piece of mooring warp and was turning out fairly decent soft eyes. When I was buying new mooring warp, I spent a lovely few hours in a rigging shop watching a professional do it - you learn a lot that way also.

Having imported an audio book CD onto iTunes I've discovered it's made up of 29 short tracks rather than 1 or 2 longer tracks, and I find it really annoying!
