Spirit of Teignmouth

No, I haven't been down there lately though to judge from the amount of progress between January and August (i.e. nothing visible) the chances of being ready to launch in the spring are between slim and none!

That's very sad news.
Reading the report it seems that it may have been the council who started proceedings judging by the last paragraph. Oh well, who knows? I wanted to see them do it but, it wasn't 'in my back yard' so I can hardly comment.

Quote from the article- "....building the £1.3m, 61m (200ft) boat on Teignmouth's seafront."

Now wouldn't that have been something!

With that and the collapse of the Challenge Business, I guess the media interest in going round the world the wrong way has waned and the sponsors have run for cover.

I guess the interest in repeating records with variations is limited. Dee Caffari got some of it but I guess Joe Public doesn't care too much about how many hulls the boat has.

I wonder if the associated rowing race business has gone down with it.
