Spinnaker Sail Number Removal

Hi

We have a second hand spinnaker with sail numbers that need to come off, they are sewn and glued on.

We have unpicked the sewing, but has anyone got any safe techniques for removing the sticky glue without dissolving the spinnaker?

BTW its only less than a year old so the material is in top condition

Try warming them with a hair dryer, you will then have a sticky residue. This may be removed by sticking tape and then removing, or you may need to use more heroic measures such as white spirit - but remember to get the fairy liquid onto the sail cloth as soon as possible to remove the white spirit.

Acetone (nail varnish remover) will not damage sail. Still not easy tho.
