Spinnaker Pole size

I am thinking of replacing our aluminium spinnaker pole. Its length is 350cm and dia 6cm.

Does anyone have any idea what wall thickness might be appropriate? I cannot measure it without taking the ends off first. Do you think that 3mm would be enough/suitable?

I would have guessed thinner, but it does depend on whether the pole is in pure compression, with up/down lines going to the end, or loaded in the middle.
You could weigh it or look at any holes drilled in it.
Metals4u will give the weight per metre?

57mm will work well for that length with a wall of 2mm, clearly if being used as a Whisker pole you can go down a size.
