Spinnaker Pole End Fittings

Evening gang.

My Trusty 1 1/2" wooden spinnaker pole has two end fittings which are not unlike the seasure ones (all metal). However the springs have lost their spring and as a result the pistons are sitting partially open (not ideal )..

Is there any way to replace the springs in them?

Since new ones are around £35 each, I certainly don't want to replace them just to fit new springs.

Good man. Thanks for that. The only issue, is I can't see how to get the springs out in the first place without bending the end of the fitting out the way, for the piston to come out.

PUt into a vice, bend the hooked bit just out of the way of the moving pin, remove the keyring from the other end, the whole lot will slide out. Remove spring and measure it.

Get a new spring to correct length/gauge (see Lee Spring design guide)

Reverse process.

Was a little concerned that I might fatigue the metal in the bending process. That said, these fittings are probably decades old and on their original springs so I doubt it's a process I'd need to do too often.
