Spinnaker guy shackle protection?

Hi all

So last night I lost my "eye-splice in braid-on-braid" virginity. Which took the guy on YouTube seven minutes, but took me about an hour and a half including a false start ;-) next time I reckon twenty minutes.

Anyway, wondering if there any good recommendations on buying / making chafe/shackle protectors to sit between the pole end and the shackle?

I'm not sure if there's another name for them, but those discs sized between a Hob Nob and a Wagon Wheel.

Parrell Beads? I call them bobbles, but even jimmy green doesn't seem very sure what to call them.

A hole saw and the plastic breadboard that your wife won't miss.

Edit. I use them not so much to protect anything but to stop the 'halyard knot' jamming in the beak.
