The boat I have just acquired is spider heaven and web city. All these are above deck and remind me of the annoying ones that live in my car wing mirrors. A spiders web is stunningly wonderful on a crisp winters morning covered in frost or early dew but not every time I climb onto her on her river mooring. I clear them away and then...three days later they are all back! Anyway does anyone have a cunning plan (Baldrick type) to clear away ziggy stardust and his spiders from Mars? (Or to correct the title The rise and fall of..............) What an album! I digress...Spiders please...

What about the rigging, life lines and every oth handy place to spin a web... We seem to have enough of the things to provide the cast of the Harry Potter film..:disgust:

Peiple who like counting bugs get all starry eyed about "nature" but it is a real pain for the rest of the population..

lots of lavender and lavender oil, and I am told, old orange peel. Spiders 'taste' through their legs and strong scents repel them.

I've tried Star Brite Spider Gone and it does work if used very regularly, but I can't breathe after spraying it and have to get off the boat quick.

So far, the conker tip has had great results. Cut in half and strategically placed in their favourite spots, returned after a week and no webs. Beforehand it resembled the hammer house of horror.
