Hello,
I am looking for imformation.

I used to own one of these back in the 80's and not having come across any adverts or mention of them had begun to wonder as to there current wherabouts.

In total 22 of these full displacement motor sailers were built by Jones Buckie Shipyard between 1960 and 1965 to a design by G.L.Watson,with about seven at 40ft, the remainder being 35 or 33ft.
I know of the wherabouts of a couple but it would be nice to know how many are still around. I do know some are in the Med and know of one is australia.

If you know of the whereabouts or indeed are an owner of any of these classics then I would appreciate a pm or email.

Thanks

Philip

Spay Nomad was in Craobh Marina, in Argyle and Spay Gometra, a smaller one, was around Ardfern area. That was a couple of years ago and I think Nomad was for sale for a while.

Hi,
Thanks for the information, I understand that Spey Gometra, has moved recently to Rhu.
With Nomad still in Croabh.
Lambley Lass was in the Clyde area in 2005 but I dont know whether she is still there.

Spey 1.

Hi there Philip,
I have owned Spey 1 for about 14 years and she is back in the highlands where she belongs. She is kept on the Caledonian Canal all year apart from when she is 'at sea' either west or east. She is in good order but takes a bit of work every spring. She was back in Buckie, for the first time since 1960, two years ago in the Moray Firth Flotilla and we had a great time. I found her in Dartmouth.
If you want more information on her or some of the other Spey’s I know of please get in touch as I’m always happy to talk about these fantastic yachts. Spey 1 is the original and all the others are copies. But I would say that wouldn’t I.
Regards
George.

Hi Toby jug.

Don't know if you got my mssg yeterday.
I own Spey Rebecca, a Spey 40. I've a selection of original sales brochures on PDF files which your welcome to. Also I've couple of pics of the Jones yard on launch day and pics of Rebecca. I'd rather send them to you privately though. I've lived aboard for 9 years now, she's laid up for work at the moment but the weather's dictating the progress.

Spey 35 Hypereos

Hello and Sorry for the late reply to this post but I have only just found the thread.
I own a Spey 35, Hypereos, built in 1972 which is based at Ardrossan. I have a number of documents, reviews, etc., including some large size drawing prints of the hull. I would be interested in exchanging information with other owners. Photograph is Hypereos in Brodick Bay, Isle of Arran.

Spey 40 Lambley Lass

Just to let you know that Lambley Lass was restored a few years ago with her Gardner rebuilt, a new rig to make her sail better and various other mods.

The Old Lady is in the Clyde, waiting for me to give her the time she deserves.

James.
