Terrible shame. Excellent service and - obviously - prices were just a bit too low.

I am really peed off. Cheap fast service and didn't go the Calais.

Only one craft and up against some really big boys ferry-wise.
Unfortunately Boulogne is not 21st century ferry friendly. Locals want the trade but not the traffic running through the town centre streets.
Ferry harbour too shallow for modern large ferries and anyway the local council prohibit night ferries due to traffic noise.
Speedferries unfortunately had to rely on thee and me for their income whereas the others have all year round freight as their bread and butter with the car traffic as, very seasonal, cream on the top.
Don't forget that in their final years Hoverspeed only operated in the summer, closing their operation down for the winter period. I suspect that lack of customers was one of their main problems.
