Despite broadband at times over the past few days the site has been slower than dial up. Any other site I use is the usual broadband quality....what is the problem??????
YES!!! im Back in France with dial up speed 28kbps, wi-fi divided!! befor i had a 2meg broad band but this forum stopped as well!!
with dial up i post go make a cup of tea and then click Timed out to reconnect! to post can today take up to 7 mins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It really is the slowest forum online.
Where else can we go?
Not to mention that we have to toggle favorits to get a reply!! That realy is very time consuming with two long waits and sometimes it just dosent toggle but times out!! i almost posted on "feedback" but peww how long and PBO cant do anything they just have an off the shelf forun and a very slowwwwwww server!
Same here, reached the point of giving up and doing some work.
The other problem we get is over running the tread, you then have to use the back button to get back to the page, this place is getting harder and harder to live with.
I've just upgraded to broadband and I had hoped that it would improve matters but there has been no detectable improvement. It leads me to think that it is down to the server/software, but I don't know enough about it.
I can't see that it is down to the number of users. Whilst this site is popular the traffic is much less than on many other sites.
I usually find it not to bad using dial-up here in Oz. However, I am on the site when you are all in bed. Perhaps it is the volume of traffic in the UK - not just on this site?
Same here. I was just about to hit my pc with a hammer. Now I just have to cut down on the sugar in my coffe so I don't get too fat waiting. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I used to run an e-commerce site. The ISP (not a big one) would regularly chastise me for not emptying the access logs. He said the amount of data in my logs was slowing down other sites hosted on the same server.
Could this be something similar. Are there other sites hosted on the IPC server that steal the bandwidth?
