speakers

We bought Pioneer waterproof speakers about this size for circa £84.00 five years ago. They are excellent and have shown none of the UV damage that our previous cheapy speakers did.

Although we were happy with the sound quality of the earlier pairs (two lots crumbling inside four years in the Med/Caribbean) the new Pioneer ones are far, far better. We just hadn't realised how crap the cheapies were!!

Certainly worth looking at. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hmm, those are not actually described as waterproof I think. I have been through a few "waterproof" speakers in our cockpit and have decided that none of them take kindly to salt water. Hardly surprising really.

When I get round to it I'm going to make some sunbrella covers for them. I figure a square of sunbrella slid into top and bottom track will keep 90% of the sun and water off and be easily removed.

just simply had a bad experience from the company - see my original post here - http://www.ybw.com/forums/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/1901078/an/0/page/2#1901078

basically I really liked the sound and the speakers, but they failed during the warenty (rust) I tried to deal direct with the company and would have been happy with a replacement, I must have asked a dozen times and was always promised a new set, but always had to chase up but eventually nothing came of it. I susspect that they new they where failing and did not want to give me a set that would just go again.

I just cant be bothered dealing with a company that wont support their customers when things go wrong, just plain and simple shocking customer service. I would have been much happier if they had just said no.
