Three aces and two kings ,
Sign up saying free port , taverna shut down and not sign of Mr pain in the bum . I will be collecting mooring fees for the next few days , 5 cent per metre , plus a beer .

Nothing in the bay , but the villages is still open , it the same in all the bays now , there all reverted back the small fishing hamlets , great place to be this time of year , even the grumpy fisherman stop and chat , tell you about there catch and story's of how there little villages use to be before the tourists took them over .
The weather all over the place , you can expect two days of rain , overcast and blows in every seven days , but the sea is still warm enough to swin , flowers still blooming all over the islands , the islands are looking green then before .and hardly not a boat in sight , it makes leaving life on land worth it . Now and then we come across the odd Liveaboard tucked up I a bay where their plain to spend the rest of the winter months .
still not sure why full time liveabourd want to hind in marinas by the end of sept when there all this still to enjoy .

Wow, looks completely different from when I was there 7 weeks ago, it was wedged along the wall with flotilla boats (mine was one of them) sounds and looks perfect now, I'll be going back this time of year in the future.

Cheers for the photo.

The major small liveable town will still be open , people still live on the islands, place like Nidri , Sami , big and small Vathi Visiliki , so on ,but every where is closed down, poplar places well known with the the summer cruisers are turned back into nice little hamlet or totally deserted , Kioni , Frikes , Fiskardho , Sivota , ,Ligia , Lakki , , moutrs , Kastosv, Kalamos just to mention a few , even the busy harbour of Eufimia ! Poros and Astakos have reverted back to sleepy little Greek town , empty for most of the day , only when evening fall a few local are seen having a beer and playing backgammon .

Sounds idyllic. Is the shelter good enough for a full winter say?

There alway somewhere you can anchor that will give good shelter , here there lazy line , we picked two up we could have three , four or even five , we know two boats that winter each year in Abekile bay , two bays up then it a short walk to little Vathi where you can buy food and the odd taverna can be find open .

Photo just for you Kentrina , rose garden looking close although it may open later , one supermarket open and the marina which use to be part of the town wall is open , you never guess they wanted 20 euros to go on the wall they have taken over , no power or water , , they having a laugh , we smiled and said no thanks we go on the other part of the wall .

1st picture is of children's playground with Rose Garden at back next to Hectoras' supermarket - he is son-in-law of Stefano Palmas, owner of rose garden. The other taverna with the rain shelters is that of Stavro and his son Nicos. Stavro lives in Katomeri, where his brother runs the Hotel Meganissi He will probably be closed for the winter now. You appear to have taken that second photo standing quite near to the position of the sunken aircraft! *(Near the white single floor cottage and out about three metres in the shallow water.)

Rose garden didn't open last night althought it doesnt look as if he has closed down for the winter , has it happen no Taverna where open which isn't surprising as it was Peeing down with rain and a thunder Strom . Hopefully the barkey will open this morning , photo taken from the boat moored opposite the play ground , I not sure where the plane is but hopefully not under us or where we laid our anchor .
